About Alana Lea

Environmental Advocate and Creator of RainforestECO Collection

Like the Brazilian rainforest where she was born, Alana Lea’s work is richly blessed by diversity. Her love affair with the plant kingdom began in the 1970’s when she became a landscape designer in Puerto Rico. She then moved to the Pacific Northwest of the U.S.A. to open a tropical plant nursery and retail shop, “Tropiflora” as well as an urban plant maintenance business “City Gardeners.”

She sold the businesses to devote herself to botanical art during the 1980’s. Her paintings have been published in books, exhibited at the Bruce Museum of Arts & Sciences and the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. She’s a member of the American Association of Botanical Artists.

In 2010 she began to focus on a solution to global warming through tropical agroforestry with a team of experts in the rainforest where she was born. Alana is the Founder of iGiveTrees, Laureate of “100 Projects for the Climate,” Member of the 4per1000 Consortium and a TEDx speaker.

Her environmental art banners have been exhibited at numerous climate change events in the U.S., Europe and Africa.

About iGiveTrees

We Regenerate Soil, Water and Forests

For the iGiveTrees team, Solutions Activism is restoring the degraded ecosystems where we were born, in Brazil. The forests were slashed and burned for coffee, sugar, corn, soy and cattle. As a result there has been a decline in our biodiversity, pollinator and wildlife populations, as well as aquifer depletion, leading to epic droughts. So we plant native species trees and food crops in a truly regenerative manner, while sharing knowledge about easy to implement systems in rural communities. We care for the soil, the plants and the people involved because “they” are “us.”
